Agenda: 
Daily Warm-up: View strong persuasive writing sample.
Persuasive Essay:

• Start writing rough draft - skip lines / use pencil / write only on the front side of your paper for easier editing later
• Conference with your teachers

The City of Ember:

• Receive your novel
• Choose your literature circle group 
• Novel preview
• "Assignment Day" Activity - select jobs / journal 2X per week
• Read "The Instructions" and start "Chapter 1: Assignment Day"

Homework:

1. Continue writing your rough draft.
2. Complete 2 Ember journal assignments by Friday, May 4th.
3. Collect spare change for the Penny War! **Ask your parents first before raiding any piggy banks!
